GIVE ME ALL THE DOGS

IT'S BACK! The most electrifying listicle in sports today, Justin McIsaac’s Top 10! We've streamlined the voting process this year, only Justin McIsaacs can vote in the Top 10. Unless I just completely made that up. Anyway...

10. A FIGHTING MCISAAC?

Somehow I’m just discovering that the Farmington-Nute QB is named… Jake McIsaac! No relation to your boy here (as far as I know), and I didn’t think there were any McIsaacs other than my family outside of Nova Scotia. McIsaac threw 2 TD passes in the Tigers loss to Fall Mountain, but, more importantly, I discovered a QB with my surname. YOU’RE PART OF THE FAMILY NOW, KID.

9. DOGS

As you may have heard, the UNH v Georgia Southern game was moved from Statesboro, GA to Brimingham, Alabama. The hotel we were staying at had literally the most dogs I’ve ever seen in one place, as the hotel was also hosting a lot of people fleeing from Florida to escape the hurricane. And it seemed like all of them had their dogs. SUCH GOOD DOGS. Every hotel should be required to carry a minimum of 10 breeds of dog.

8. ALL OF THESE NFL GAMES HAVE BEEN TRASH

I know it’s week 1, but as of 7:30 pm, the closest thing to a good game has been Pittsburgh and Cleveland. That’s right, the BROWNS have been involved in the most entertaining game of the week. That’s an issue. If I’m being forced to watch Scott Tolzien vs Jared Goff on a Sunday afternoon, that’s a hard sell for the rest of the family.

And let’s not bring up the Pats performance.

7. I TOLD YOU LAST YEAR TO GET YOUR LICKS IN ON PINKERTON WHILE YOU COULD

And I hoped you enjoyed it, because they’re baaaaaaaaack. 2 TD’s from Terrell Hicks lead a potent rushing attack for the Astros in a 28-6 win over South. Pinkerton and Salem are going to collide next week in the biggest D1 game of the young season, it should be a classic.

6. THE COWBOYS HAVE A GUY NAMED TACO CHARLTON

He has a Fighting Taco on his cleats. I really don’t have anything else here.

5. HOW MANY BLUE HAWKS RAN THE BALL?

12! Exeter used 12 different ball carriers against my Spaulding Red Raiders to pick up a 42-0 win in Rochester on Friday night. A young Cameron McIsaac was in attendance, and he seemed amazed that my final score prediction was only off by 3 points (spoiler alert Cam: Exeter is good). Exeter will face a tough test when Goffstown rolls into Bill Ball Stadium on Friday night.

4. SOMERSWORTH MADE IT WORTH THE TRIP

It’s a looooooooong bus ride from Somersworth to Barnes Park in Claremont, one of my favorite places to catch a High School Football game. But the Hilltoppers bus ride home was probably a jubilant one, as they ran off 27 unanswered points in the 2nd half to beat the defending champion Stevens 35-8. Somersworth has a HUGE offensive line, and they traditionally run a straight T formation offense so that means trouble for opposing defenses.

3. SIMON SAYS

5 TD’s for Simon Roach of Hanover lead the Mauraders to a 48-14 win over MV, and Hanover is looking like a top 2 or 3 team in D2 North early on. I’m not gonna quite call next week vs Pembroke a trap game, but you know the Hanover kids have a clash with Lebanon two weeks from now circled on their calendars.

2. SALEM HAS A DECENT RUNNING GAME

Josh Sibanda had 209 yards and 3 scores… on just 8 carries. EIGHT! That’s fairly efficient. Salem used their ground and pound to smash Keene 57-14 to set up that big tilt with Pinkerton we talked about early on. With all the running in that game it should be over in about 75 minutes.

1. I’M UNDEFEATED AS A UNH COLOR COMMENTATOR

How about a 22-12 win over an FBS opponent?!? (It wasn’t even that close either – UNH got up 22-0). Trevor Knight played an excellent game at QB, and Rick Holt was a monster in the middle of the line against Georgia Southern’s option running game to put the ‘Cats at 2-0. They haven’t lost since your boy here made it to the booth. Hmmmmmmm……

ALSO RECEIVING VOTES: My daughter watches that show Big Brother and when she talks about it it’s like she speaking a foreign language, Milford is good but they’re 0-2, MY Con-Val Cougars win again, Bedford might be ok this year
