Yes, I know I'm late...

Trevor Knight and UNH are back in the playoffs

IT'S BACK! The most electrifying listicle in sports today, Justin McIsaac’s Top 10! We've streamlined the voting process this year, only Justin McIsaacs can vote in the Top 10. Unless I just completely made that up. Anyway...

10. HIGH TIDE FOR THE BEACH BOYS

It was over pretty quickly Winnacunnet, as they were able to do what most teams only dream about -  beating Pinkerton for the D1 title. Any time you win a championship, it’s an incredible feeling, but if you can beat a storied and respected program like the Astros, I think it makes it just a little bit sweeter.  A wire to wire unbeaten season is a great accomplishment for Winnacunnet, congratulations to the Warriors!

9. THE STREAK LIVES ON

Make it 14 straight years in a row for UNH with a playoff appearance in the FCS tournament. It was a little tense flipping on ESPN for the FCS selection show after the ‘Cats took a 15-0 loss out of Albany, but there will be football played for at least one more weekend at Wildcat Stadium. UNH will face Central Connecticut for the right to play on the purple turf (PURPLE? Yes, purple) turf of Central Arkansas in the 2nd round.

8. NOT EVERYONE WAS HAPPY ABOUT THE STREAK LIVING ON

Delaware coach Danny Rocco was MAD about being left out of the NCAA Playoffs in favor of UNH Sunday, and he immediately let the whole world know that it was NOT FAIR. From DelawareOnline.com:

“This is an injustice,” coach Danny Rocco said.

The Blue Hens had just watched the selection show in the Carpenter Center auditorium.

“I cannot find any logical, sensible reason that New Hampshire trumps Delaware,” Rocco said. “There isn’t one statistical, data-driven reason.”

He also went on the blame the fact that UNH at 7-4 was chosen over 7-4 Delaware on UNH AD Marty Scarano being on the FCS selection committee, basically calling the entire process crooked. Good looks coach! The next time one of your players gets called for a penalty, should he blame everyone but himself? THE SYSTEM IS RIGGED AGAINST ME, COACH!

7. THE BILLS BENCHED TYROD TAYLOR FOR A GUY THAT LOVES THROWING THE BALL TO THE OTHER TEAM

Nathan Peterman, welcome to the history books. You’re name is now synonymous with first half futility after handing the Chargers the ball FIVE TIMES in one half. Tyrod Taylor is never going to be mistaken for Tom Brady, but he’s a perfectly serviceable NFL QB who had thrown 3 INT’s all year.

He’s not a world beater, but he takes care of the football, and can make some plays, if Coach Sean McDermott would maybe acknowledge it’s 2017 and throw a Run/Pass Option or a Read Option into the playbook now and then. Instead, it was time to take some CHANCES DOWN THE FIELD. This is why the Bills are, and forever will be, the Bills.

6. SOME OF Y’ALL NEED TO CHILL OUT A LITTLE WHEN WE MAKE STAFF PICKS

Staff picks! They’re fun, we have a friendly little competition amongst the NHSportspage.com crew. With my staff picks, I take about 12 seconds of research to fill in who I think will win, and even less time if Dave puts a Spaulding game on the list, since I will take Spaulding over literally any team in history.

90% of the time, when people out in the sports community talk to us about our Staff Picks, it’s usually the friendly “Hey, we’ll show you!” chop busting type of interaction. Which I am all for! Most of my interactions in general are getting my chops busted, or busting someone else’s chops.

*Stephen A Smith voice* HOW-EV-AH, there’s 10% of you that really, really need to relax a bit. You know who you are. You get all angsty and confront us about the fact that we’ve DARED to pick the team that isn’t yours, and honestly, you look madder about it than I was when my house got broken into last year. CHILL OUT MANNNNNNNNNNNN! We’re here to have fun. You should be too.

5. CAMPBELL GRINDS IT OUT FOR THE D3 TITLE

Keegan Mills is the hero forevermore in Litchfield, as his 33 yard mad dash to pay dirt gave Campbell a 12-8 lead they wouldn’t surrender to win their 2nd D3 title in 4 years. This time there was no stampede of McIsaac for the Cougars in the postgame celebration, which is a relief for me, but the Cougars DID get to do the We Undefeated dance, which is almost as good. Congrats to Campbell!

4. SPEAKING OF THE UNDEFEATED DANCE, PETE GOT 3 OF THE IN SATURDAY

How is Pete ever going to top THREE editions of “We Undefeated”?!? There’s a max of doing TWO during the D2 & D1 Hoops championships, so this is a record that will likely never be broken, unless there’s 4 title games next year at Wildcat Stadium (If Pete ever gets to do 4 he might literally die of happiness…)

3. WE’RE ON TO BASKETBALL

And maybe hockey? I’m trying to talk Jen Chick-Ruth into some cold hockey barns for some live stream coverage this winter (Dover v Spaulding in hockey, it doesn’t get much better…), but we certainly are ready to get inside some warm basketball gyms. The Jamboree is December 9th, start lacing up your Nikes!

2. PLYMOUTH GOES BACK TO BACK

The last 4 years have seen back to back rematches in the D2 title game, with STA and Windham battling in a pair of classics, and now Plymouth and Bow squaring off twice now, with the Bobcats winning a thriller last year, and in a bit more decisive fashion this season. Some might have wondered if the Bobcats would be the same program after Chuck Lenahan ended his 43 year run in 2013, and if those questions weren’t answered in a satisfactory manner, they sure are now! Congrats to Coach Sanborn and his kids!

1. AND THE BOBCATS FINALLY CELEBRATED IN THE PRESENCE OF DAVE HALEY

They even pulled the rope a dope, convincing Dave there WOULD BE NO DANCING… and then swerving Haley with the countdown and the whole team going nuts! The end of a great trilogy of post game interviews. I still think they should’ve no-sold it a bit longer, just to make Dave sweat.

ALSO RECEIVING VOTES: Seriously a purple field, I finally watched Stranger Things 1 yes FINALLY, I spent way too much time reading angry Delware fans posting on message boards, We need more Turkey Bowl games
