Alex Tavares scored 31 points, including the 1000th of his career as the #6 Portsmouth Clippers downed the #11 Manchester Central Little Green 69-65 in the Division 1 Prelims.  Portsmouth moves on to play at #3 Spaulding in the Quarterfinals on Friday. 

 

It was a back and forth game with neither team able to take a comfortable lead.  Tavares had 20 of his 31 after halftime, but Central behind 20 points from Daniel Infante wouldn't go away.   Coleman Brewster came off the Portsmouth bench to add 15 points, while Central got 14 each from Jesus Milan & Dede Niyang and 13 from Royce Williams.
