The Eagles outlast the Mohawks in overtime

The Groveton-Colebrook rivalry added another chapter on Saturday as this game went down to the wire.

The first quarter was as even as could be with Groveton holding a slim 16-15 lead after one.

Carson Rancourt was able to shake loose for open looks in the first half and Malik McKinnon was tremendous all afternoon. The Eagles were still in control of things at the half 33-31.

The second half was the same as the first, close. Josh Wheelock was the voice for Groveton on the defensive end and did a tremendous job of getting into the paint.

Daegan Riff and McKinnon were key in the 4th quarter for Colebrook and a McKinnon layup with just seconds to go sent this game to overtime.

It was all Groveton in OT and Julian Kenison went on a personal 8-0 run to seal the deal, 71-59.

A special thanks to our sponsors White Mountain Community College, Smith Mobile Repair, Colebrook Copy Center, and Bobby and Terri McKinnon for making the coverage of this game possible!
