Another week down and another week of great performances across the state in girls basketball.
This week marks our fifth Buffalo Wild Wings Girls Basketball Player of the Week Poll.
After each week's slate of games, candidates for the award will be posted. Voting will go until Wednesday at midnight and the winner will be named on Thursday.
Each winner will receive an NHSportspage t-shirt and a Buffalo Wild Wings gift certificate!
Week 1 winner: Brianna Filion of Newmarket and Maurgan McGrath of Hopkinton
Week 2 winner: Avery Stewart of Fall Mountain
Week 3 winner: Isabella King of Bedford
Week 4 winner: Emy Plage of Derryfield
Here are this week's candidates..
Jennessa Brunette of Manchester Memorial: Memorial and Salem went down to the wire on Friday night and Jennessa Brunette was the difference-maker. She finished with a stat line of 20 points, 23 rebounds, 3 assists, and 5 steals to help Memorial make up a 41-39 victory in a thriller against the Blue Devils.
Hannah Cote of Pittsburg-Canaan: The Yellow Jackets have put together quite the season thus far and Cote has been a key contributor. The freshmen netted 18 points in a 41-33 victory over Moultonborough to help Pittsburg-Canaan pick up their 9th victory on the year.
Paulina Huckins of Newfound: The sophomore was a dominant force in the paint on Friday night. Huckins recorded yet another double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds to secure a 50-29 victory on the road over St. Thomas Aquinas.
Valentina White of Coe-Brown: Jennifer Chick-Ruth's Coe-Brown Bears picked up a great 61-42 victory and Valentina White had a huge night, tallying a season-high 23 points in the win.
Kelly Walsh of Goffstown: Walsh proved once again on Friday night that she is one of the toughest players to stop in all of Division I. The senior continued her strong year with 28 points in a victory over Pinkerton.
