Week 1 Winner: Aidan McDonald of Salem
Week 2 Candidates:
Joe Mikol of Bedford: The Bulldogs earned a very good win over Dover on Friday night as their veteran quarterback played a giant role; throwing for 192 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for two more.
Karter Pollari of Newport: The defending champs are off to a dominating 2-0 start and Pollari has been a big part of the Tigers success. In a Saturday win over Bishop Brady he rushed for 154 yards and a touchdown while adding a tackle for a loss.
Jake Wiberg of Exeter: The Blue Hawks are off to a 2-0 start and in a dominant performance against Spaulding it was Wiberg who was the star. Wiberg scored five touchdowns and scored in three different ways: running the ball, on a pass reception and on an 83-yard kick-off return.
Riley Marsh of Gilford-Belmont: The junior defensive back played a huge role in the Golden Eagles 28-7 win over Pembroke Saturday night; picking off two passes and adding two tackles in the win.
Derek Finlay of Nashua North: Trailing Merrimack 35-14 at the half the Titans quarterback helped lead a dramatic comeback win: Completing 17 of 22 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns in addition to rushing for 102 yards and two scores in the victory.
