We are down to the last two weeks of the regular season with conference titles and playoff spots up for grabs.

We’ll rank the top contenders in all four divisions and give you some insight into which teams are on the inside looking out and the teams that are on the outside looking in.

Our column today is brought to you by our partners at MaxWay Performance in Greenland.

Registration is starting for MaxWay’s winter sports performance programs. Athletes on the seacoast cannot miss this opportunity to max out your off season

 Division I

Division I Standings and Statistical Leaders

Gold Level Coaches/Programs: Brian Pafford of Portsmouth-Oyster River, Ryan Francouer of Winnacunnet, and Jack Bryne of Windham.

  1. Londonderry- The Lancers likely will be the top seed in the playoffs. They will close the season with games against Winnacunnet (1-6) and Salem (1-6).

  2. Nashua North- HUGE game Friday night and one we are excited to cover. I’m going with the Titans in a close one. Few teams can match BG’s speed, the Titans are one of those teams.

  3. Bishop Guertin- The most impressive part of the Cardinals 14-7 win over Bedford was the defense. We already knew John Trisciani’s team could win a shootout, but now they’ve proven they can win a grind-it-out defensive battle. Jakob Baker was immense in the win; totaling 13 tackles (10 solo) and three tackles for a loss in the victory over the Bulldogs.

  4. Timberlane- That was a good win on the road at Spaulding last Saturday night. The Red Raiders are battling a lot of injuries (Emmett Colby was among the starters that did not play) but the Owls have been as consistent as any team in the division and now are one win away from winning the East and earning a first-round bye.

  5. Concord- The offense was terrific once again behind Elia Bahuma (162 yards rushing) and Divon Duncan (195 yards total offense and three scores) in a 48-26 win over Salem. Now comes a Windham team that is going to try to keep the game in the twenties. Can the Tide’s defense win that kind of game?

  6. Bedford- The Bulldogs losses this season are to the #2 and #3 teams in the rankings and by a total of just nineteen points. If they can close with wins over Keene and Merrimack they will host a playoff game in three weeks.

  7. Pinkerton Academy- No shame in going over the border and losing to a very good Brockton (MA) program. I wonder how many times in Brian O’Reilly’s Hall of Fame coaching career he’s had a team gain over 500 yards in a game (515 to be exact) and lose? Losing Caden Michaud, who was terrific last week, to a collarbone injury will test their depth at running back.

  8. Exeter- A pair of losses has moved the Blue Hawks off the center of everyone’s radar but they’re still going to be a very tough out in the playoffs. That was a very good (22-7) win at Dover last Friday night. The Green Wave are another team that has been really hit hard by injuries.

  9. Windham- The Jaguars took care of business with a win over an improving by-the-week Manchester Central team. A win at Concord would be a huge confidence builder going into the playoffs.

  10. Merrimack- The offense was shut down in a 49-7 loss to Nashua North, they can get right with a game against winless Goffstown this weekend.

 Division II

Division II Standings and Statistical Leaders

Gold Level Coaches/Programs: Robin Bowkett of Souhegan, Chris Sanborn of Plymouth, Sam Cavallaro of Hanover, Chris Lones of Hollis-Brookline, Keith Jones of Milford, and Scott Stearns of Kennett.

  1. Souhegan- I’ve been riding the Sabers train all season and I’m not about to jump off. The Pelham Pythons will be the best team they have faced all season but I’m going with Robin Bowkett’s team to win on the turf Friday night…and we’ll be there to cover the showdown.

  2. Gilford-Belmont- The undefeated season has been earned and they are the surprise story of the Division II season. That being said, both Merrimack Valley (3-4) and Laconia (2-5) came away from their games with the Golden Eagles feeling like they could have and should have beaten them. Gilford-Belmont is going to need to play their best football the rest of the way to keep the story going into mid-November.

  3. Pelham- The coaches I speak to tell me the best teams they’ve seen on film this season are in order; 1) Souhegan 2) Pelham 3) Gilford-Belmont 4) Bow. The key for Tom Babaian’s team tomorrow night is they have to be able to pressure Sabers quarterback Romy Jain. Teams that cannot pressure him have little to no chance, but Pelham poses the biggest threat yet to the best offense in the division.

  4. Bow- If they can close their season with wins over Pembroke and Laconia they should get the 3-seed in the playoffs with the loser of Souhegan/Pelham getting the 4-seed.

  5. Hanover- You could see the difference in the Bears offense without quarterback Roger Lucas last weekend and now they head to Gilford for a huge game at the Farm. If Lucas plays they can absolutely knock off the Golden Eagles but they’ll be the underdogs on Saturday in a score the rest of the division will be monitoring closely.

  6. Kennett- That was a big win over Plymouth last Friday night as Evan Koroski (130 yards rushing and 10 tackles) and Sean Carrier (110 and 9) were both outstanding. Right now I think the Eagles are a better football team than St Thomas.

  7. St Thomas- Ed McDonough’s team has what is essentially a playoff game Saturday afternoon at Plymouth. The winner should get into the playoffs while Milford hopes to pass the loser of Saturday’s game and get in with a two-game sweep of Hillsborough-Deering and Lebanon.

  8. Plymouth- Simple as this; if Chris Sanborn’s team beats St Thomas on Saturday and then Sanborn on the road next week (reminder that Sanborn beat them a year ago) then the Bobcats are in. Lose Saturday and they very likely are out.

Division III

Division III Standings and Statistical Leaders

Gold Level coaches/Programs:

  1. Trinity- Interesting closing stretch for the Pioneers who travel to Fall Mountain on Friday night (there is a zero percent chance ten kids on the team know where Fall Mountain high school is located or where that bus is taking them) before a trip to Claremont to play Stevens in what will essentially be the Cardinals playoff game.

  2. Monadnock- They should wrap up the 2-seed with wins over Epping Newmarket and Kingswood to close the season. Epping Newmarket has been decimated by injuries and is now forced to put freshman out on the field.

  3. Campbell- With a one-game lead on Inter-Lakes Moultonborough and the tie-breaker over the Lakers we should see another Campbell/Monadnock playoff game in Swanzey in three weeks.

  4. Stevens- The Cardinals rushed for 377 yards last week with Jai-Lique Riberio leading the way with 143 yards and a touchdown.

  5. Inter-Lakes Moultonborough- Paul Lavigne has done a terrific job for the Lakers who are likely headed to the playoffs because of A) a 15-0 win over Fall Mountain last weekend and B) a 26-22 win over Stevens at home in Week 1.

 Division IV

Division IV Standings and Statistical Leaders

 Gold Level Coaches/Programs:

  1. Somersworth- It’s a division-wide bye week before we finish out the Division IV regular season next week. If you’re looking for intrigue you’ve wandered into the wrong division. The Hilltoppers have beaten the other three teams in this Top 4 by scores of 35-7, 54-0, and 48-0. The only team I can see possibly beating them is…

  2. Newport- Which has beaten the third-ranked team 36-13 and now faces Raymond next weekend. I do see the Tigers battling Somersworth in the final but the gap thus far has been wide.

  3. Bishop Brady- It’s been a good story for Brendan Johnson’s team who closes with a game against Franklin next Saturday.

  4. Raymond- The Rams have won three of four and now get an extra week to prepare for a trip to Newport. A win would make them the #2 seed in the playoffs.
