It was a Division I girls basketball clash last night, Salem played hosts to Spaulding in what would prove to be a hard-fought battle to the end.

 The first quarter featured a handful of lead changes as both teams wrestled for control. The turning point may have been an 11-0 run by Salem late in the first half. A run that secured them a 29-24 lead going into the half.

 The game remained close, with Spaulding cutting the lead down to 3 by the start of the fourth quarter. Ultimately Salem was able to stay on top by a narrow margin, finally winning 41-35 in a game that never saw either team lead by more than 6 points. 

 The Blue Devils were led by Gabriella Mosto who put in a game-leading 12 points. Molly Mosto, Ayla Regan, & Madeline Beely combined to put in 16 points. Charlotte Hinchey also made some key defensive plays to close out the game. 

 The Red Raiders were led by Hannah Drew, Jenna Philbrook, & Jade Trueman who all had 8 points apiece.
