Alvirne took care of business at home against Merrimack. They picked up their second win of the season moving to 2-4, and Merrimack dropped to an identical record of 2-4.
Alvirne went on an 8-0 run to open the game with a lead. Madison McCaffery responded by scoring straight points, sparking an 8-0 run for Merrimack that tied the game after the first at 8 apiece.
Alvirne got some separation in the second, as both offenses found their footing. They entered the half with a 22-16 lead.
The Broncos raced away with the game in the fourth, outscoring Merrimack 20-4. Offensive rebounding was key, as they routinely got second-chance opportunities off of rebounding.
Alvirne entered the 4th leading 42-20 and never looked back, both the benches were emptied and the final score was 53-33. This was a big statement win for Alvirne at home.
Alvirne was led offensively by Ally Scharn, Paige McKinley, & Lexi Floyd, who all scored 12+ points. Ella Hartman was a stat sheet stuffer on the defensive end, with multiple blocks and steals over the course of the game.
Merrimack was led by Madison McCaffery, who dropped 16 points on a variety of difficult shot makes.
