This was a game that spoke to two teams two different defensive styles. Newmarket played a man defense with a lot of pressure, while Epping ran a zone for most of the contest that also showed a lot of pressure.
Both defenses forced a lot of turnovers, and minimized offensive opportunities throughout the entire game. Both sides struggled to get warm offensively however the first quarter was controlled mostly by Epping but they slowly lost the lead to Newmarket as the quarter closed.
Newmarket held the lead and kept it the entire game until the final buzzer. The final 34-21.
