The Grizzlies win a back-and-forth rivalry contest

Goffstown took the court on Monday night looking to continue a strong 4-1 start to the season. They hosted a Concord team coming with a 2-3 record, but back at full strength after starting the season short-handed.

Indeed Concord had the edge after a quarter of play, leading 10-5 behind Whitney Valliant who had the first 6 points for the Crimson Tide.

The second quarter was all Grizzlies though, as Maggie Sasso returned to the game after sitting with two fouls to help jumpstart the offense which poured in 16 second quarter points. Goffstown retook a 21-18 lead into the second half.

The Grizzlies would outdo that effort with 18 third quarter points, taking a 39-31 lead into the 4th quarter. Goffstown led by as much as 12 points in the fourth quarter but Delaney Duford & Whitney Vallient continued to score and keep the game within striking distance.

They were able to cut the game to one possession following five straight FT makes for Whitney Valliant. The game-tying 3-pointer fell just short and Keeleigh Capps was able to calmly put the game away with two made FTs at the line. Final score 55-50 in favor of Goffstown.

Goffstown moves to 5-1 on the season, Concord drops to 2-4. Maggie Sasso led all scorers with 21 points. Ella Malouin added 8 points and Keeleigh Capps added 7 points. Delaney Duford & Whitney Valliant both had 19 points, with Maddie Kelley adding 6 points.
