The last week of the Division I and II regular season calls for a bracketology edition of Thursday Thoughts.

Brought to you by our friends and partners at AutoFair!

Division I

Division I Standings and Scoring Leaders

Gold Level Coaches/Programs: Kevin Gibbs of Bedford, Greg Cotreau of Manchester Memorial, Ricky Oliver of Salem, Scott Blake of Spaulding, Frank Girginis of Alvirne, Kaylene Rogers of Exeter, Steve Largy of Goffstown, Lani Buskey of Pinkerton, and Jimmy Flynn of Dover

Bracketology Edition (predicting the fourteen seeds in next week's tournament... top two seeds get a first round bye)

1) Bedford 2) Pinkerton 3) Londonderry 4) Portsmouth 5) Salem 6) Goffstown 7) Dover 8) Windham 9) Exeter 10) Keene 11) Alvirne 12) Nashua South 13) Nashua North 14) Concord

Projected First Round Match-ups

Bedford and Pinkerton get the bye

(9) Exeter at (8) Windham

(12) Nashua South at (5) Salem

(13) Nashua North at (4) Portsmouth

(11) Alvirne at (6) Goffstown

(14) Concord at (3) Londonderry

(10) Keene at (7) Dover

Notes: The top six is locked in, but everything from 7-14 is still up for grabs.. The key games that come to mind: Alvirne at Goffstown, Concord at Dover, Bishop Guertin at Windham, Exeter at Keene... The Green Wave and the Windham Jaguars currently sit at 11-6, but Dover holds the head to head tie-breaker with their 36-35 win a few weeks back. Both have tough contests to finish the year, but if both win or lose, Dover has the edge.. Dover and Keene played to a 61-44 contest on Tuesday and very well may be seeing each other again next week... The same goes for Alvirne and Goffstown who play Friday night... BG's 62-37 win over Exeter keeps their playoff chances alive. Concord-Dover and BG-Windham might decide who gets that last spot... We covered Exeter at Windham on opening night and the game proved to be neck-and-neck. This could be the most intriguing first round matchup if this is how things shake out...

Division II

Division II Standings and Scoring Leaders

Gold Level Coaches/Programs: Dan O'Rourke of Hanover, Brian Gray of Sanborn, Larry Meader of Kennett, Bryan Wall of Oyster River, Bob McNutt of Merrimack Valley, and Rebecca Carlile of Concord Christian

Bracketology Edition (predicting the fifteen seeds in next week's tournament... top seed gets a first round bye)

1) Concord Christian 2) Laconia 3) Pembroke 4) John Stark 5) Pelham 6) Bow 7) Hanover 8) Oyster River 9) Derryfield 10) Coe-Brown 11) Merrimack Valley 12) Kennett 13) Milford 14) Timberlane 15) Hollis-Brookline

Projected First Round Match-ups

Concord Christian gets the bye

(9) Derryfield at (8) Oyster River

(12) Kennett at (5) Pelham

(13) Milford at (4) John Stark

(11) Merrimack Valley at (6) Bow

(14) Timberlane at (3) Pembroke

(10) Coe-Brown at (7) Hanover

(15) Hollis-Brookline at (2) Laconia

Notes: What a few weeks it has been in Division II. Laconia handed Concord Christian their first loss behind a Maddy Mousseau three with twelve seconds left. Pembroke has lost two straight, one in overtime to Coe-Brown (who is playing some VERY good basketball right now), and 63-57 on the road at John Stark. For a cherry on top, Wren Horne hit a three at the buzzer to give Oyster River a 41-40 win over Laconia on Wednesday night. A lot of madness and it isn't even March yet... Pembroke and Laconia both finished at 15-3 and both have 10 wins against tournament teams, including four of those wins coming on the road for each team. Laconia's win over #1 CCA gives them the slight edge. It doesn't get closer than that... Bow, Hanover, and Oyster River all sit at 13-5. Bow holds the tiebreaker over both with regular season wins against both squads to earn the six seed. Hanover took the lone regular season matchup against the Bobcats to get number seven and Oyster River gets the last home playoff game at the eight spot.. We had another tie between Milford, Kennett, and Timberlane as all three teams finished at 8-10. Timberlane's loss to Milford puts them at 14. Both Kennett and Milford earned two playoff wins, both beating 15-seed Hollis Brookline. Since Kennett defeated a higher seed in their other win (Coe-Brown), that should earn them the tiebreaker.. MV at Bow and Derryfield at Oyster River are my games to watch for in round one...
