Week 6 Candidates:

Isaac Clough of ConVal- In one of the better wins in recent ConVal baseball seasons, Clough went the 1st 8 innings, giving up 3 runs with 11 strikeouts on the road to help the Cougars beat Plymouth 4-3 in 9 innings.  Clough also went 1 for 3 with a run batted in the game.

Garrett Fournier of Colebrook- The Mohawks pulled off a big-time upset when they beat Woodsville 4-1 last week. Fournier played a huge role in the win, pitching six scoreless innings and adding a hit in the victory.

Wyatt Divers of Belmont- The Red Raiders played 4 games last week, and they made a statement, outscoring their opponents Berlin, Gilford, Mascoma, and Somersworth by a combined 55 to 2 score.  Divers was in the middle of it all with 2 wins on the mound, both mercy rule games where he went 5 innings and gave up a total of 3 hits and 1 run.  The Belmont senior also went 6 for 11 with 4 RBI on the week.

Owen Stewart of Pembroke- While most other teams were getting rained out, it was a busy week for Owen Stewart and the Spartans who managed to get three games in.  Stewart did it both ways for Pembroke in a 2 and 1-week span with 5 hits in 8 at-bats, while also working 9.1 innings with 15 strikeouts in 2 games on the mound, including a 7-inning complete game win over Merrimack Valley where he struck out 12.

Wilson Zolla of Manchester Central-West- The senior righthander knows a thing or 2 about overcoming adversity after missing last year's baseball season because he was battling leukemia.  Zolla was cleared to play this season, and on Wednesday night against Alvirne, he pitched an 8-inning complete game 2-1 victory, leading the  Knights to their first win of the season.
