Oyster River reclaims the title in a 4 set win

Oyster River finished its season on top, defeating Somersworth 3–1 to claim the 2025 Division II state title.

The Bobcats looked composed from the start — serve receive was clean, the offense was balanced, and they controlled the tempo early. Somersworth made them earn it, though, rallying late in nearly every set and taking the second to keep things close.

After that, Oyster River settled back in and never really lost control. It was the kind of win that defined their season — no single standout, just a full team effort from start to finish. Every position contributed, and that balance made them nearly impossible to slow down.

Somersworth, last year’s champions, showed why they remain one of the state’s toughest programs: gritty defense, steady play, and no quit. But this year belonged to the Bobcats. A young team a year ago, they came back more experienced, more connected, and ready to finish the job — and they did.

Kennidy Asche brings you all the play-by-play, while Patrick Cogan brings you all the highlights and the post-game interview/celebration with the entire team.
