Baby Andy Reid needs a blanket...

Everyone loves Power Polls – no matter how silly the Rankings are. Remember when Winnacunnet beat Exeter, and was somehow ranked beneath them? HA! Anyway, everyone knows that the ONLY Power Poll that matters belongs to WTSN’s Justin McIsaac….

10. OBSTRUCTION
Last week in the spot, you weren’t allowed to push someone in a football game,  this week it’s illegal to lay on the ground after diving in a baseball game. I’m not Kreskin or anything, but the way this is trending, look for someone to get a red card for running in a soccer game this week.

9. NORTH ISN’T JUST THE NAME OF KANYE’S KID
It’s the team that threw a big monkey wrench into the BG playoff plans. Unless you’re a current North player or coach, it’s unlikely you picked the Titans to upset the Cardinals, but as Chris Berman says, THAT’S why they play the games.

8. DOVER’S BOWL GAME
It’s been a tough year for the Green Wave, and they’ve got a 2-6 record going into the final game of the year. But don’t think for a second that the Green Wave kids have nothing to play for, because their 107 year rivals Spaulding await them on Friday night. Spaulding is in the driver’s seat to host a playoff game, but a loss to Dover , combined with Winnacunnet & Exeter wins would have the Red Raiders playing PS3 on November  9th. Dunaway Field will be a crazy scene on Friday night for the best rivalry, by far,  in NH.

7. THE “BEST FANS” IN BASEBALL
All fan bases are insufferable, but the Cardinals fans are especially so, because they can’t stop telling you how classy they are. Like when LaDanian Tomlinson said to the media after losing to the Pats in the ’06 playoffs “As you know, I’m very classy.” There’s one twitter account that begs to differ, https://twitter.com/bestfansstlouis(WARNING- lots of bad & offensive language). It collects the worst tweets from Cardinal fans from around the web, and retweets them for your schadenfreude (look it up).  CLASSY MYTH: DEBUNKED.

6. WEST BEDFORD VS CENTRAL FOR A PLAYOFF SPOT
Back in the day, it WOULD’VE been West, when that’s where most of the Bedford kids where going to high school (Including SNL’s Seth Myers) . Now it’s a Bulldog v Little Green battle for the right to play mighty Concord in the sub-division championship game that might feel like a State Championship game.

5. A SUB .500 TEAM COULD MAKE THE PLAYOFFS IN D3
Bishop Brady and Epping/Newmarket are both 3-4 after E-N beat Brady 33-21. E-N plays Inter-lakes-Moultonborough in the Hyphen Bowl this weekend, while Brady plays winless Franklin. It’s possible that BOTH teams will make the playoffs sub.500 – yikes. Gotta clean that up, NHIAA

4. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IVAN NIYAMUGABO
Learn how to spell and pronounce it, because the Junior QB for Merrimack Valley ain’t going anywhere for a while. 133 yards on the ground and 204 more through the air in a performance that must’ve had St Thomas saying  “But we had him stopped for a loss!” at least 6 times. Merrimack Valley made history by securing their first playoff berth in school history, thanks in large part to Niyamugabo…

3. …..WAIT, M/V COULD STILL MISS THE PLAYOFFS?
Yup, thanks to the NHIAA’s “Head to head wins don’t mean a thing” policy in D2, if M/V loses at Plymouth, and STA wins at Trinity, despite having a head to head win and an identical record, by virtue of the point system I think M/V would be out and STA would be in (This must’ve been written by the Power Poll Voters, who LOVE to put a team above a team that just beat them. Hello Spaulding and Exeter!). I’m as big of a Seacoast homer as there is, but if that scenario plays out, I’d be shaking my head.

2. THE NHSPORTSPAGE.COM BASKETBALL JAMBOREE! (NOT PICTURED: NHSPORTSPAGE.COM)
Great write up by the Union Leader on the upcoming preseason basketball jamboree that this website had a HUGE part in putting together! Wait, what’s that? OH RIGHT! The article totally neglects that fact:http://www.unionleader.com/article/20131026/SPORTS16/131029425/0/SEARCH  .  I get that newspapers are terrified of websites, I really do, but I don’t think circulation will go down just because you give credit where credit is due.

1. BABY ANDY REID
Halloween is over, and this kid won.  Let’s hope Haley puts the picture up correctly!

ALSO RECIVEING VOTES:  Winnacunnet still alive in the playoff hunt, Erin Andrews is sneaky not good looking, Frost on my windshield makes me homicidal, 2 Mannings 1 Cup continues to win despite no WRs, Pouring soda on yourself on ESPN is a thing now
