Retro Pinkerton alert!

Everyone loves Power Polls – no matter how silly the Rankings are. Remember when Winnacunnet beat Exeter, and was somehow ranked beneath them? HA! Anyway, everyone knows that the ONLY Power Poll that matters belongs to WTSN’s Justin McIsaac….

10. I SHOULDN’T BE SURPRISED AND YET….
Can someone please explain to me how in the world Manchester Central can be ranked behind Bedford in the friggin’ Power Poll? How? HOW?!?! Central went TO Bedford, with a playoff spot on the line, AND BEAT THEM IN THEIR OWN HOUSE. Central then lost to Concord, yes. Who did Bedford beat last week to overtake them?
OH THAT’S RIGHT NOBODY BECAUSE THEY WERE ELIMINATED BY CENTRAL.  At least Tarrier got that one right in HIS power poll. Christ.

9. GETTING WAY TOO FIRED UP ABOUT AN ARBITRARY RANKING SYSTEM
There’s no real reason in the world I should be that upset about two non –Spaulding teams, but I’m not wrong, right? I honestly think the PP voters would be happiest if the teams didn’t play any actual games.

8. PARTYING LIKE IT’S 1986
That’s what Pinkerton would like to do- the last time they played Keene, “West End Girls” by The Pet Shop Boys was a hit (not just on the pop station on GTA5, but in real life!), Ferris Bueller was teaching kids that skipping school was the thing to do, and on TV, Alf was stealing our hearts- and our Cats.

Also, Pinkerton beat Keene 52-0 to win the D1 Championship. The Blackbirds of today weren’t even a glimmer in their parent’s eyes then, but I’m sure that “REMEMBER ’86!” will be a rallying cry in the Semi-Finals this Saturday

7. WE COULD GET A HYPHEN BOWL REMATCH IN D3
It’s unlikely, but IF Epping/Newmarket can pull an upset in Claremont over Stevens, and IF Inter-Lakes-Moultonborough could steal a win at Bow…. Yeah, you’re right, HYPHEN BOWL II DENIED.

6. SUNDAY WAS HORRIBLE
And not just because I had to start Ben Roethlisberger as my fantasy QB- No Celtics, no Bruins, and the Patriots on a bye- I had to…. spend time with my family. I don’t know how I made it through to Monday. Never Forget.

5. SERIOUSLY THOUGH, WHO’S GOING TO BEAT CONCORD?
I don’t think the Crimson Tide is going to lose again this year, and I don’t think it’s going to be close this weekend when they host Exeter. Dave and I noticed them at the Queen City jamboree (which seems like 4 years ago), and knew they were going to be good- but not THIS good. The Crimson Tide are a good bet to get their first state crown since Y2K.

4. WHO ARE THESE GUYS?
Zach Matthews, Mike Rich, and John Morris. They’re members of the Sanborn Indians.. who went alllllllll the way to Monadnock and shocked the state by knocking off the previously undefeated Monadnock Huskies. #UpsetAlert hashtags were flying around Saturday afternoon as we all watched our twitter feeds in disbelief. It’s not any easier this week for Sanborn, as they travel up I-93 to take on Plymouth, but after one upset the Indians must be saying “Why not us?”

3. REALLY JAY GLAZER?
I haven’t seen softballs like that since I played in a beer league back in ’05. I know you trained Incognito in MMA or whatever, but it’s really tough to make us surprised at FOX ‘s lack of journalistic integrity.

2. STEVENS LOOKING FOR A TITLE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HALF A CENTURY

I’m not gonna lie, I’m pulling for the Cardinals. I’ve made the trip to Barnes Park in Claremont twice to broadcast games, and the people involved with that program are First Class. If you can take the 2 hour drive out there, Barnes is a great place to see a HS football game too. The Cards aren’t looking past Epping/Newmarket, but they’d love their first football Trophy since JFK was in the White House

1. MERRIMACK VALLEY CAME THISCLOSE TO AN UPSET
When M/V went to Portsmouth back on 9/20, they got down 14-0 in the first minute of the game, and were trailing 28-0 by the end of 1. Kinda tough to stick to a game plan in that instance. But the Pride gave the Clippers everything they could handle last week in their first playoff appearance, and with Ivan Niyamugabo coming back next year, the Pride are going to be a handful in ‘14

ALSO RECEIVING VOTES: Punter Chris Kluwe hasn’t had a job since he came on my show, Radio stations playing all Christmas music already can go to hell, I still have Halloween candy in my house, Winter Beers being the only good thing about Winter
