Bishop Brady plays host to a trio of games in the inaugural Frank Monahan Basketball Showcase in Concord Sunday. With one of New Hampshire's best public teams in Bishop Brady, and arguably its best prep team in Brewster Academy - NH will be well represented on the Sunday afternoon.

The Showcase has been organized by the foundations President and Founder, Marshall Crane, who played for Monahan at Bishop Brady between 1995 and 1998 including a Class I State Championship in 1997.  The foundation's mission statement states, "The Frank Monahan Foundation Mission is dedicated to inspiring and motivating youth to take their education seriously, visualize their dreams and to make a difference in their community. To bring awareness that listening to your “Coach” or “Teacher” can help turn your dreams into a reality."

You can listen to Marshall on the NH HS Basketball show with our own Pete Tarrier where he talks about the Foundation and the games matchups.

The event was originally scheduled for December 15th during the holiday season but a storm blew through postponing the event.

Kicking off the action will be Lee Academy (ME) vs. Notre Dame Prep (MA) at noon.  Notre Dame is a former national prep champion and has a stellar point guard in Daxter Miles (committed to West Virginia) and shooting guard Detrick Mostella (committed to Pittsburg).

At 1:30pm Conways Kennett High School (8-3) will face Bishop Brady (8-2) in a battle between two of the NHIAAs best Division II teams.  Both are viable contenders for the State Title and a win in this game would go a long way for each team hosting a playoff game.

The event is highlighted by a matchup between Brewster Academy (Wofleboro, NH) and Jean-de-Brebeuf (Montreal, Quebec).  Jason Smith is not only the Head Coach of the Brewster Bobcats but also on the Board of Directors for the foundation.  Smith has consistently put together one of the top prep programs in the country and this year is no different as the team boasts 5 committed Division I players.  PF Isaac Copeland is a Georgetown commit, Jared Terrel to Oklahoma State, Max Twyman to Albany, Jonah Bolden to UCLA and Kevin Zabo to San Diego State.  Several others including one of the top PGs in the country in Devonte Graham are uncommitted (awaiting verbal release from Appalachian St.).
