Justin McIsaac's Top 10 of Everything... and Anything...

Listicles are great- but my weekly listicle is REALLY great. These are the Top 10 things of the week as voted on by the voices in my own head. Dave doesn’t get a vote in THIS power poll, either.

10. THE WEAK SHALL INHERIT WEEK 2

The NFL saw the Raiders, Browns, Jaguars, Washington, and Buccaneers all victorious on the same day. I’m too lazy to look up the last time THAT happened, but I wouldn’t bet on it happening again any time soon. Doesn’t it break your heart that the Ravens are 0-2 after losing to Oakland?

9. THE BLUE HAWKS HANG ON

Londonderry dropped to 1-2 with a 28-20 loss to Exeter Friday night, but it came down to the wire when the Lancers were able to move right down the field on their final drive, but Jake Stevens pass was incomplete on Londonderry’s final play of the game, and Exeter improved to 3-0. That’s a HUGE win for Exeter with rival Winnacunnet looming this Saturday, in a game that could very well decide D1 East.

8. LOGAN KEENE’S CATCH

Unfortunately there isn’t video (that I know of- send it to us if you caught this grab) (UPDATE YES THERE IS! Go here:https://twitter.com/WHSWarriorFB1/status/645973031760871424)  of Logan Keene’s sensational grab in Winnacunnet’s win over Dover, but it was, dare I say, Gronk-esque. Streaking down the right sideline, and with a Dover DB in excellent coverage, Pat MacDougal threw a beautiful pass that Keene had to lay out and make a one-handed grab for. I don’t think you’ll see a better catch in NH HS Football this year.

7. SOUHEGAN WITH A STATEMENT WIN

D2 South is the Group of Death this year- with Windham, Trinity, Souhegan and Milford all capable of winning the conference (sorry Pelham). The Sabers win on the road only makes them 2-0, but in a short season a win like that could mean the difference between playing in November, and looking forward to Basketball open gym. Speaking of D2…

6. YOU’RE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS, BUT ST. THOMAS IS REAL GOOD

I know, breaking news right? The Saints are hanging half a hundred (tm Barry Switzer) on everyone so far, beating Merrimack Valley 48-14. It wasn’t the best day on offense for Stephen Hedberg, the Saints star QB (he threw 3 INT’s), but the Saints were able to overcome their own miscues. The Saints first real test comes this Saturday when they travel to the Land of Lenahan (tm Pete Tarrier) to take on Plymouth, in a game we’ll feature on NHSportspage.com

5. SHHHHHHH… STEVENS IS 3-0

The Cardinals have won their last two on the road, and stuff gets real over the next two weeks- they’ll take on Franklin and Inter-lakes/Moultonborough, but they get to do it at Barnes Park in Claremont, which is a very tough place to win as an opposing team. IL/MA and Newport are the favorites in D3 North (and rightly so), but don’t sleep on Paul Silva’s Cardinals, who aren’t afraid to change their entire playbook in one week!

4. BAD BREAK FOR COWBOYS FANS

The NFC East just might stink these year, which seemed to mean an easy road for the Cowboys to a division title. Tony Romo’s broken collar bone just threw a monkey wrench into those plans. Out 8-10 weeks, it’s time from Brandon Weeden to shine, which just made every Dallas fan throw up in their mouth.
Don’t worry Cowboys fans, the Lakers start up soon, and the Yankees are still in playoff contention.

3. #BILLSMAFIA, WHERE YOU AT?

Oh man, did we hear some chirping this week from the Bills and their fans or what? You win one game over a Colts team that is softer than Charmin, and you think you’re Biff Tannen in Back to the Future. Well guess what, butthead? Your daddy in the hoodie showed you who still runs Bartertown. Now go get your fu**ing shinebox.

2. CODY GRAHAM IS GOOD, HIS FATHER’S FANTASY TEAM IS BETTER

Portsmouth lost 38-18 to Timberlane Friday, though Portsmouth’s Sophomore QB Cody Graham had a good night, going 20-26. That was nothing compared to his father Wade’s fantasy performance Sunday, racking up 170 points with Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, DeAngelo Williams, and Emmanuel Sanders – and he left Larry Fitzgerald on the bench! And believe me, we’re all going to hear about it from Wade.

1. INTO THE BELLY OF THE #SHUSHGATE BEAST

I’m headed into the Lion’s Den on Friday night, as I’ll be broadcasting Spaulding @ Portsmouth on WTSN AM 1270. For the loyalists of NHSportspage.com, this is the Scene of the Crime, where Dave Haley and PCA Hoops coach “The Big Smooth Lewis Atkins” were, dare I say, assaulted with bullying words for talking during the halftime show. There are times during halftime where I’ll need to speak, as I will be, you know, on the radio. Should I hire private security? Do I bring my son’s trumpet, as a brass olive branch? Will I leave with a Sousaphone wrapped around my neck? These questions and more will be answered Friday night, make sure you tune in.

(There will also be a football game going on, to the chagrin of the enemy in the #Shushgate battle)

ALSO RECIVING VOTES: Danny Amendola’s grab, Sad Bills fan and his cowbell, John Stark puts a scare into Windham, Pinkerton keeps on trucking, Enough with all the Minions memes
