Justin McIsaac's Top 10 of Everything... and Anything...

See ya later Peyton, grab some bench.

Listicles are great- but my weekly listicle is REALLY great. These are the Top 10 things of the week as voted on by the voices in my own head. Dave doesn’t get a vote in THIS power poll, either.

10. KINGS OF MT. JAGUAR

Windham held off the Eagles of Kennett in a game that was closer than the 28-12 final score would indicate. The Jags D had held Kennett to 6 points in the 4th quarter, but Windham was still up just one score, 14-6, when Victor Pizzotti ran 36 yards for a back breaking score. The Jags still have the D2 Championship Belt, and they return to Durham for a rematch with Saint Thomas. The Saints might be favorite in that game, but to BE the man, you have to BEAT the man, and the Jags are still The Man in D2.

9. INTER-LAKES/MOULTONBOROUGH LAKERS >>>>>> LA LAKERS

I thought #Squam was going all the way, with their undefeated record and Christian Serrano , but the Brothers Brothers had other ideas, combining for 278 yards and leading IL-M to Durham next Sunday. Dave Haley and I will call that game for NHSportspage.com, so strap yourselves in…

8. *NATIONWIDE JINGLE VOICE* GRAB THE BENCH CAUSE YOU ARE DONE…

There’s the stat line for Peyton Manning, who is DONE. FINISHED. I don’t care how many excuses Tony Dungy and Jim Nantz and Phil Simms and every other member of the Manning-stream media try to feed you, he couldn’t start for a good college team at this point. And I love it. SHOW ME THE “I JUST GOT BENCHED FOR BROCK OSWILER” FACE!!! SHOW IT TO ME NOW!!!!!

(Screen cap- SB Nation)

OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH YEAH!!!! That’s the good stuff. LET ME DRINK YOUR TEARS, PEY PEY!!!!

7. THE TIGERS WERE GRRRRRRRRRRRREAT

I do not apologize for lame Frosted Flakes jokes.

I thought Newport v Bow was going to be a donnybrook, a close game decided in the last few minutes. The Tigers 427 yards (129 from Noah Wade) and contained Bow’s Chris Robbins (which is NOT an easy task), and roared into the D3 Title game with a 47-7 win. Personally I’d make Newport the favorites, but my picks have been a tire fire this year, so take that for what it’s worth.

6. JULIAN EDELMAN BREAKS HIS FOOT, MY HEART

Noooooooooooooooooooooo!  (Photo: Getty Images)

As of this writing it’s being reported that Julien Edelman could miss up to 8 weeks with a broken foot- we don’t know if that’s a fact, but it’s reliable reporters saying this, not Chris Mortensen. Not only did Tom Brady look a bit lost (for a while) after Mini-tron left the game, but the fate of 2 Mannings 1 Cup was thrown into doubt with Jules out for the rest of the Fantasy season. JULES COME BACK I, er, THE PATS NEED YOUUUUUUUUUU

5. ¡MANNY PAZ LO LLEVA A LA CASA!

Milford had just tied it up with STA early in the 1st quarter, and went for what appeared to be an onside kick- but the pumpkin bounced into the hands Manuel Paz, a Sophomore exchange student from Mexico City, who raced it in for the TD. It gave the Saints a 14-7 lead, and if you had given me 50 tries I would never had guessed that Manny Paz would score a go-ahead TD in a Semi-Final game. Viva Manny!

4. KAMAHL WALKER DROPPED 47 ON KEENE STATE THIS WEEKEND

Walker did work this weekend (Photo: ECGulls.com)

I know we’re talking football, but former Portsmouth hoops star nearly put half a hundred on Dave Haley’s alma mater this weekend in Endicott’s 100-88 win over KSC (Including 23-23 from the line- hit your Free Throws!). Whole lotta NH kids doing well in D3 and D2 college hoops, make sure you get out there and support them!

3. THAT BLUE HAWK DEFENSE THO

Exeter beat Pinkerton, who seemingly has a standing reservation in the Class L/D1 Title game since the Reagan administration, 10-0 in the Semi-Finals, which is impressive enough, but the Blue Hawks didn’t allow Pinkerton to get past midfield. Not once. All day. I can’t even do that on NCAA Football ‘14 for PS3 against an FCS team with the difficulty turned down. The Blue Hawks get unbeaten Goffstown in the title game, and the Grizz will be favored, but if you can tamp down Pinkerton like that, ANYTHING is possible.

2. GOFFSTOWN EARNS IT

The Grizz needed to rally from an early 14 point deficit after giving up a short field to Bedford twice, but came back to get a 24-17 win and a date in Durham. Connor Bourque’s mad dash from 70 yards out sealed the deal for G’Town, who passed their first real test of the season with flying colors. Just a PSA for Goffstown and Exeter fans who are going to the late game Sunday at UNH- GET THERE EARLY. There were people still trying to get in during the 2nd quarter of the D1 title game last year. In fact, leave now.

1. HOW FAR WILL SAINT THOMAS FALL IN THE POWER POLL NOW?

The knock (if there’s been one) on Saint Thomas this year has been that they haven’t played anyone with a winning record. I guess they should’ve scheduled an SEC team or something?  When they won a playoff game by 21, they went down in the I-93 power poll. This week they ran away from a terrific 8-1 Milford team, dropping 51 points on one of the hottest teams in D2, and advancing to their 2nd straight D2 Championship game, in what should be a great re-match with Windham. Which idle D1 team will the voters put ahead of the Saints this week?

ALSO RECEIVING VOTES: Dave and I calling the D3 game for NHSportspage and the D2 Game on WTSN = off the rails, Nate Grunbeck loves TD’s, Baltimore losing on a facemask with no time left, RIP Nick Bockwinkel
