Even though half our staff sold out to the lure of BIG POWER POLL, there's still only one Top 10 in New Hampshire that REALLY MATTERS. This is the Top 10 of whatever caught Justin McIsaac's attention this week .

10. PUNTING. YES, PUNTING.

Here's a phrase I've never used while calling a High School football game: "There's some really nice punting going on from both teams tonight!".  UNTIL FRIDAY. Shon Parham of Portsmouth and Erik Stephens of Dover both did an excellent job in the kicking game, which any high school coach will tell you is always an adventure. More on this game in a bit.

9. I'M TYPING THIS WITH 3 MINUTES TO GO IN THE 1ST QUARTER AND I'M ALREADY 1000000000% IN ON JIMMY G

I mean did you see that throw to Hogan? He could throw 36 INT's over the next 3 quarters, but I'm already fully invested. AND HE'S SO HANDSOME.

(Don't worry Brady you're still #1 in my heart. I'm just hanging out with Jimmy. It's nothing to worry about)

8. THAT TECMO BO JACKSON KIA COMMERCIAL

It worked. I'm buying a Kia and I don't even need a new car. I spent more hours in my childhood playing Tecmo Bowl and Tecmo Super Bowl than anything like reading or studying, and the fine folks at Kia have done an excellent job of finding a way to exploit my nostalgia.

7. MONADNOCK IS IN D3 AND THAT IS REALLY BAD NEWS FOR EVERYONE ELSE IN D3

The Huskies have scored 85 points, and allowed 0. I'm no football coach, but that sounds like a winning formula. Monadnock football teams have a well earned rep for being tougher than a government mule, so it's no surprise that they're doing it by running the football, as they used the wishbone to roll Campbell on the road this past week.

6.  MY CON-VAL COUGARS GET IN THE WIN COLUMN

My NHIAA hot take of the preseason was tweeted out during the Seacoast Jamboree, when I said the Con-Val Cougars would make playoffs. Therefore, they're MY Con-Val Cougars. You need permission to get on the bandwagon. Con-Val shook off a close opening night loss to Milford by beating up West 36-0. D2 South ain't gonna be easy, but I'm sticking with my hot take. Speaking of D2...

5. WE'RE GONNA NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO HANOVER

87 points in their first 2 games, including hanging a 50 burger on MV this past weekend have the Marauders at 2-0 to start the season. Hanover can't look past a struggling Pembroke before hosting Lebanon in a matchup that should have the Upper Valley rocking on the 23rd.

4. MY D1 PICKS THIS WEEK WERE A DUMPSTER FIRE

I took Pinkerton, Londonderry, Timberlane, and South. 0-4. If you're a D1 team and you see your team's name as one of my picks this Friday, don't even get on the bus. If you're reading that, it's too late.

3 ROGER GOODELL THINKS HE GOT DEFLATE-GATE 100% RIGHT

I heard this question on a podcast many months ago-  would you rather have Donald Trump as NFL commissioner, or Roger Goodell as President? They're kind of the same guy at this point, aren't they? (Roger isn't quite as orange I guess.)

2. WILDCAT STADIUM LOOKS SICK

I wasn't in the house for the UNH win over Holy Cross Saturday night, but catching a little on TV, and seeing the pics that virtually every one that I know put online tells me that Championship Saturday is going to be even better with a revamped stadium to fill up. Plus it looks like the press  box isnt about to fall over, which is nice for us media types.

1. I THINK DOVER FOUND THEMSELVES A QB

Exeter had their way with Dover on opening night, but I saw some things I liked out of the Greenwave on offense, particularly when Carson Webb was running the offense. Webb and Johnny Cantwell were splitting time in camp and in the first game, but it was Webb who got the call for all of Friday nights game at Portsmouth (on MOSN and Edge Streaming Radio), and boy did he deliver.

4 TD passes, 263 passing and 83 yards on the ground in a 35-20 has Dover at 1-1. If the Greenwave can stay healthy, they're going to be a handful this season.

ALSO RECEIVING  VOTES: Pinkerton threw the ball how many times? Merrimack's unis are straight fire, There was not a #ShushGate incident this past week but stay tuned, The new SNF on NBC song is trash
