: Bow, 3-1 (3), 10th

Here's how I voted...

1. Salem...there's no dispute at this point in the season that the Blue Devils are the number 1 team in New Hampshire.  Salem is off to an impressive 4-0 start, including a convincing win over a very good Pinkerton team.  Everybody talks about Josh Sibanda, but this edition of the Blue Devils has many weapons for Quarterback Matt Soldano to go to in running backs Dom Paci & Josh & Adam Maroun.

2. Plymouth...the Bobcats made a statement when they ran out to a 42-6 lead vs Bow in the Divsion 2 State Championship Game rematch on Saturday in Plymouth.  Bow ended up creeping back into it and making the final score look a little more respectable against the Bobcats reserves after coach Chris Sanborn called off the dogs in the 2nd half.   Make no mistake, this Plymouth team can compete with any team in the state, regardless of division.

3. Goffstown...the Grizzlies are probably the surprise team so far this season in Division 1.  I think most people thought Goffstown would be pretty good with several returning starters from last year and a few that played on, and were big contributors to the State Championship team 2 years ago.  But I doubt many people had them pegged as title contenders going into this season, including me who happens to live in GTOWN.  The Grizz can take another step forward on Saturday when they take on Winnacunnet in Hampton.

4. Winnacunnet...speaking of the Warriors, they followed up their statement win over Bedford in Hampton 2 weeks ago with another victory this past weekend, this time on the road against their rivals/nemesis Exeter.  The 23-7 final score against the Blue Hawks proved Winnacunnet is not just for real, they are true contenders for a State Championship.

5. Bedford...if there's any team that can bounce back from losing a game & their starting quarterback to injury and not miss a beat the next time out it's Bedford.  It helps when that next game comes against Spaulding, but it's still impressive what Bedford was able to do in putting up 63 points with backup QB Thomas Morgan under center filling in for Connor Robert.

6. Pinkerton...I got to see the Astros in person on Friday night along with about 6,000 other people in Derry as Pinkerton beat Londonderry in the annual Mack Plaque game.  After Ty Hicks and company ran all over the previously unbeaten Lancers in the 35-7 thumping, people have to be thinking if Pinkerton is that good, Salem must be REALLY good considering how they handled the Astros a week ago.

7. Windham...I feel bad ranking the Jags all the way down at number 7.  Windham is very, very good.  They are always in the mix for the title, and so far this year they are 4-0 and they've outscored their opponents by a count of 159-45.  Big one on the seacoast this Saturday afternoon against St. Thomas.

8. St Thomas...Dave Haley & Jennifer Chick-Ruth will be there in Dover on Saturday afternoon and they'll be LIVE STREAMING VIDEO of the game on NHSportspage.com.  It's our 1st look at the Saints who are also off to a 4-0 start behind do-everything Tim Bouchard & QB Shaun Dekorne.

9. Bow...I almost dropped the Falcons out of my Top 10 after the beatdown they suffered in the Land of Lenahan on Saturday, but I decided to keep them in based on the fact I think Plymouth is that good.  Bow is still a very good team that can beat you in a number of different ways and I expect they'll be in the hunt until the end.

10. Campbell...the Division 3 Cougars have been about as dominant as you can be in rolling out to a 4-0 start with 41-0, 42-0, 64-0 & 61-9 wins in their 1st 4 games.  Campbell is doing it with 2 big-time running backs in Keegan Mills & Ryan Yanuszewski and a defense that flat out stymies the opposition.  Coach Greg Gush won't let his team look past Bishop Brady this weekend, but I'm very much looking forward to the game in 2 weeks against a good Somersworth team!
