Campbell vs Londonderry on Thanksgiving Day? I like it!

Bedford grabs the last playoff spot in D1 & the 10th spot on Pete's ballot.

Every week I will post my Union Leader Power Poll Ballot so everybody can see who I voted for...and why I voted them in my Top 10.

Here's the latest poll after Week 9...and don't forget to see below for my ballot!

T-1. Winnacunnet, 9-0 (3/57) T-1

9. Bedford, 6-3 (11) 9th

10. Campbell, 8-0 (6) 10th

Other receiving votes

: Hanover, 8-0 (2), NR

Here's my ballot!

1. Salem…the Blue Devils capped only the 3rd undefeated regular season in school history with a 35-14 win over Londonderry last Friday night.  The same 2 teams will meet again on Saturday at Grant Field in Salem to determine who takes on the winner of the Pinkerton/Nashua South game on November 11th.

2. Winnacunnet…like Salem, the Beach Boys of Winnacunnet are also undefeated thru regular season play and will host Bedford on Saturday afternoon at 3pm in a rematch of a 20-8 Warriors win back on Sept 15th.

3. Plymouth…Garrett Macomber had perhaps his best game of the season on Saturday against the Milford Spartans, rushing for 210 yards & 3 touchdowns on only 10 carries in 42-30 win.  The Bobcats went 8-0 in the regular season earning the #2 seed in Division 2 and will host 7th seed Souhegan on Saturday afternoon.

4. Goffstown…the Grizzlies struggled in a 13-7 victory over winless Manchester Memorial on Friday night.  8-1 Goffstown is the #2 seed in the North/East Conference playoff pairing in D1 and will host #3 Exeter on Saturday afternoon.

5. Pinkerton…the 8-1 Astros are the #3 seed in the South/East Conference playoff bracket and will travel to Stellos Stadium on Saturday to take on a #2 Nashua South team that Pinkerton defeated 28-6 head to head in Week 2.

6. Windham…the 8-0 Jaguars captured the #1 overall seed in Division 2 thanks to having the highest points rating in the league.  Windham will host a very tough #8 seed Bow on Saturday afternoon at 1pm.  That’s as good a 1 vs 8 matchup you will find!

7. Exeter…The 8-2 Blue Hawks were once 2-2 on the season after back to back losses to Goffstown & Winnacunnet, but since then Bill Ball’s team has rattled off 6 straight wins & should be considered very dangerous…and motivated to get another crack at both of the teams that beat them.

8. Nashua South…the Purple Panthers people I have talked to are feeling very good about this year’s team, especially the way they are playing in their 7 game winning streak that helped them finish 7-2 after starting the season 0-2.

9. Campbell…interesting debate came up on the NH High School Football Show with me & Dave Haley the other day.  I wondered out loud how 8-0 Campbell would fare against a Division 1 playoff team like Londonderry?  Dave immediately said Londonderry would win.  I’m not so sure.  Kudos to Lancers junior QB Evan Cormier who tweeted out a proposed Campbell vs Londonderry Turkey Bowl game!  I would love to see that!

10. Bedford…the 6-3 Bulldogs took care of business on Friday night vs Manchester Central in a game they had to win to get into the playoffs.  The Bedford defense really stepped up and controlled the high powered Central passing attack in the 26-6 win.  They will need more of the same against a well rounded Winnacunnet team.
