For the first time, we will have video coverage of all three meetings between rivals when Pittsfield and Newmarket square off for the Division IV title today at noon.

The Great Jon Kesty, Sam Natti and I will bring you full coverage and the post-game celebration with the Division IV champions.

As we do with all of our championship previews we cut right to the biggest question facing each team…

 Division IV

 (5) Newmarket vs (2) Pittsfield

What does Newmarket have to do to beat Pittsfield?

Newmarket beat Pittsfield on the road short-handed and then lost at home in the rematch, in a game where Newmarket lost it as much as Pittsfield won it.

If the Mules hit their free throws late in that second meeting they sweep the season series, and that’s why there isn't much Jamie Hayes should change at all today. Newmarket is bigger than Pittsfield at almost every position. Use the length of guards like Simon Cote and Travis Moseley to control the paint and make sure players like Casey Clark & Garrett Guerrero Hadley don’t get clean looks. Clark outside the three-point line and Hadley when he penetrates into the paint.

Stay with the man to man defense and on the offensive end send Simon Cote to the post if he is being guarded by Cam Darrah. Newmarket is at its best in the open floor and they shouldn't be afraid to run on Pittsfield because the Mules bigs like Chase Hounam and Jared Woodman are going to win a foot race with Josh Whittier.

Push the pace and attack Pittsfield before they can get all five guys back on defense.

What does Pittsfield have to do to beat Newmarket?

Play their game…this is a team that runs really good offense and communicates well defensively. Have Dylan Bocash guard Anthony Senesombath and run the ball through the post with Josh Whittier on the block.

Pittsfield needs to attack for 32 minutes because they are the best team in the division at those 8-0 bursts that win games. Keep attacking even if you’re up 5 with 3 minutes to go. You’re at Plymouth now and asking kids to make a lot of free throws late in that kind of environment is a lot harder than running the same sets and rotations they have been running since 9th grade.

Feed the ball to Cam Darrah (who was the best player at Plymouth Monday night) and allow him to make good decisions with the ball. He passed the ball very well against Littleton.

Again you were in both games against Newmarket and beat them on their home floor. Just play your game today.
