It all kicks off with an 8 am shotgun start Friday morning

“Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates the intellect. It is at the same time rewarding and maddening – and it is without a doubt the greatest game mankind has ever invented.” -Arnold Palmer

“If it goes horribly wrong on some hole can I just pick up my ball?”- Justin McIsaac

“I know it starts at 8 am but there will be a beer cart girl right?” – Wade Graham

Friday morning at The Derryfield Country Club in Manchester we will host our first annual NHsportspage golf tournament.

It’s a who’s who of New Hampshire high school coaching luminaries that includes Eric Saucier (Conant), Nate Camp (Kearsarge), Mike Larson (Pelham), Matt Regan (Bishop Guertin) playing together, Jim Cilley (Belmont), Mike Curtis (White Mountains), Kieth Matte (Lebanon and yes that’s how he spells Keith), Rich Otis (Pembroke), Jamie Walker (Woodsville), Cole Etten (Hollis-Brookline), Peter Pierce (Souhegan), Nick Fiset (Epping), Jeff Baumann (Social media giant Timberlane), Jim Barry (Mascoma), Adam Thurston (Farmington) and Danny Bryson (Manchester Memorial and playing in my foursome).

Plus groups from Woodsville basketball, Belmont Basketball, Mascenic Basketball (which includes reigning New Hampshire State Amateur champion Mike Martel), Farmington basketball, Timberlane & Epping joining forces, eight members of the Haley Celebrity Golf Tournament and Matte, Otis & Barry being polite enough to include The Clown Prince of Golf Justin McIsaac in their foursome.

The older/more distinguished David Haley will even be making an appearance.

Jennifer Chick-Ruth will be on hand to shoot a tournament video we will post next week and Pete Tarrier will stop in to MC the post-game festivities which will lead us to the back deck of the Derryfield Friday afternoon.
