The only Power Poll that matters is what's inside McIsaac's head

McIsaac wants someone in this picture to be his new BFF. Yes, it's the Buffalo.

YEAH THAT’S RIGHT – You waited all Spring and Summer, and finally, the only reason for getting out of bed early in the week is back: Justin McIsaac’s Top 10!

10. TIE-ROD TAYLOR

THE BROWNS ARE UNDEFEATED! 0-0-16 is in play! Even though he’s probably a C+ QB, I didn’t like the way the Buffalo Bills jerked him around last season, starting Nathan Peterman instead of Taylor at one point, a year after screwing with Taylor’s contract. So when Nathan Peterman was out setting the QB position back 90 years with the Bills on Sunday, and Tyrod was getting a tie for the Browns, which is like winning 8 Super Bowls for any other team, it made me smile.

9. SAM DARNOLD’S FIRST NFL PASS WAS A PICK 6 LOLOL

Which was one of the most predictable things in history. Darnold will throw 3 TD’s per game, you just have to hope 2 of them are to your team if he’s your starter. This game is in the 2nd Q as I type this, so maybe he’ll catch fire in the 2nd half, but Jets gonna Jet…

8. WINDHAM GETS THEIR FIRST D1 WIN AND NOW MY FEELINGS ARE HURT

A 54-0 win at Hugo Bolin Field over my Spaulding Red Raiders, in front of not just me, but the entire McIsaac family, is the first D1 W for the Jags. We knew they’d be good stepping up into D1, and a hard fought loss to defending champion Winnacunnet confirmed that. But there’s nothing like that first W. Even if it comes at my expense…

7. DOVER-PINKERTON WAS CLOSE, UNTIL IT WASN’T

Everyone in the state was giving the big eye-looking emoji to the Dover Pinkerton score, as the Greenwave and Astros were tied up at 28 in the 3rd , with Fighting McIsaac Ty Vitko trying to lead Dover to an upset win– then a Pinkerton avalanche saw them double their total over the next quarter and a half to win 56-28. Gannon Fast (who has a great last name for a Running Back) ran for 4 TD’s and 184 yards, as Pinkerton’s running attack wore down the Greenwave. Pinkerton needed just 2 pass attempts, and still scored 56 points, is that good?

6. THERE’S A FOUR WAY TIE ATOP DIVISION 4!!!

I mean there’s only been 1 game, but still! It’s good to see D4 get underway, I know there are some media types that enjoyed seeing the smallest schools get annihilated every week, but I’m here for the D4 action. Raymond is my dark horse pick to make some noise.

5. SOCCER MAKES IT’S MOSN DEBUT TUESDAY NIGHT

That’s right, inspired by the US not losing a game in this past Men’s World Cup, we’re bringing the Beautiful Game to internet radio…. Wait what’s that? Oh, right, the US didn’t actually PLAY in this past Men’s World Cup. But the USWNT will be a favorite in next year’s Women’s World Cup! And in that spirit, we have the Spaulding Girls taking on Nashua North at 4 Tuesday on MOSN. The secret to Soccer play by play? Saying everything as a question. Example: “She’s really struck that one well, hasn’t she?” See?

4.  I WANT A PICTURE WITH RALPHIE

Who exactly is Ralphie, you ask? She’s the live Buffalo that Colorado runs on to the field pre game and halftime. And since UNH is headed to Colorado this weekend to take on the Buffaloes, you can bet I’ll be angling for some Ralphie face time. And if you don’t think Ralphie is serious business, I was just forwarded a 3 page PDF entitled “Procedures for Ralphie for Gameday Run and Sideline Clearing”. I lead an interesting life.

3. SOMEBODY HOSE DAVE DOWN, GILFORD-BELMONT IS 2-0

The two wins this season equals their win total for the past 2 years after a 20-7 win over MV. Alex Cheek threw for a pair of scores, and suddenly cries of “We want ‘BAMA!” could be hear across the Lakes Region. They won’t get Bama, but they do get Plymouth in their next contest. We have to do something about G-B’s unis though, the red numbers outlines in gold with blue everywhere else does NOT work for the self proclaimed Doctor of Uniform Style, Justin McIsaac.

2. EXETER BOUNCES BACK

In the animal kingdom, I’d bet on a Hawk to take down an Owl, if it ever came to a fight between the two birds, and that logic (if you want to call it that) held true on the gridiron as Exeter used TWELVE different ball carriers en route to a 35-6 win over Timberlane. I think only one team is going to get a playoff spot from D1 East, as they are matched up against the very strong D1 South in crossover games, so Exeter had to get moving if they wanted to claim that spot.

1. NICHOLE MARRERO IS THE NEW MAYOR OF LONDONDERRY

The newest member of the NHSportspage crew is a woman that I nicknamed “The Mayor of Great Bay CC”, as Nichole was a pretty damned good point guard for the GBCC Women’s hoops team, and also seemingly everywhere on campus, doing everything. She can add Londonderry to her area of rule, as Nichole was the only one to pick the Lancers to upset Salem, and she was correct. The Lancers gave her the shout out in the post game video, and, as happens every year, we have had a team adopt one of our staff members. If Londonderry is able to win the whole thing in D1, they need to carry The Mayor off the field at Durham!

ALSO RECEIVING VOTES: I almost wrote an “anonymous” op ed about Dave Haley’s leadership, Brady to Gronk forever and ever, Boise destroys UConn, Windham @ Dover should be fun as hell this week
