The Campbell Cougars won the battle of Division 3 unbeatens, taking down Hopkinton 66-56 in an exciting game in Litchfield on Tuesday night.
Junior big man Carter Vedrani came off the bench to score a career-high 21 points as Campbell improved to 7-0 on the season. The Cougars jumped ahead by 11 at the half despite losing leading scorer Joaquin Heller to an ankle injury. Brendan Rice(13), Jonah Crema(11) & Heller(10) all joined Vedrani in double figures. Hopkinton's Kevin Newton-Delgado battled Vedrani inside all night and finished with a team-high 17 points for the Hawks(7-1). Shepyrd Murdough added 11 & Caleb Yianakopolos had 10.
