Two pre-season top ten Division III teams met on Friday night in what was a great back-and-forth game throughout. 

 Winnisquam had the advantage to start the first three quarters, but Gilford always found a way to claw back at the end and capitalize on momentum.

 Freshman Caidyn Carter had a great varsity debut and Mackenzie Philippy and Victoria Kelly were reliable offensive options all night for the Bears. 

 The effort Olivia Keenan had on the defensive end is what sparked the Golden Eagles all night long and the playmaking of Vanessa Flanders down the stretch helped Gilford close things out and pick up their first win on the season.
