World War One is over pal, get out of here with that

IT'S BACK! The most electrifying listicle in sports today, Justin McIsaac’s Top 10! We've streamlined the voting process this year, only Justin McIsaacs can vote in the Top 10. Unless I just completely made that up. Anyway...

Hey, before we get going, do me a favor and listen to my new talk show, "The Justin McIsaac Show" every weekday from 12-1 pm on WASR 97.1 FM and 1420 AM.  You can also listen here, or on the TuneIn app.

10.  GOFFSTOWN WINS A THRILLER

It’s not often that Bill Ball coached teams take an L twice in one season to the same squad, so the Grizzlies knew they’d need a spectacular effort to send Exeter home disappointed. And between a Pick 6 from Andrew Duval, and a stop on a 2 pt conversion that would’ve tied it up, the Grizz made just enough plays to stop Cody Morrisette and company. Their reward is a trip to the beach for a rematch with Winnacunnet

9. THE D3 CHAMPS STILL HOLD THE BELT

Did I think Stevens at Somersworth would be a terrific D3 playoff game Saturday?

Yes.

Did I think the defending champs were going to leave Somersworth with a  33-6 win?

Not on your life.

I have all the respect in the world for Paul Silva and the Stevens Cardinals, but I really thought this was the year Dan Hodsdon had a team that could take the whole thing. And Somersworth may HAVE been a good enough team, but you can’t measure the heart of a champion. Congrats to Stevens, who will be on the road once again for a semi-final clash with Campbell.

8. TIM BOUCHARD DOES IT ALL

Is Saint Thomas a little bit under the radar this year? They aren’t hanging 50 on teams every week like in years past, but they’re solid all the way around, and Tim Bouchard is an absolute nightmare to gameplan for. He can beat you running, receiving, and probably by breaking down film of you and giving a detailed scouting report to Coach Ryan Brown.  Bouchard had 100 yards rushing, 93 yards receiving, and an INT on defense in a 28-13 win over a game John Stark squad. The Saints head up to Plymouth in what should be the game of the day in D2 next week.

7. AS IN, 7 TAKEAWAYS FOR PINKERTON

Former Nashua South Panther Trevor Knight and I were talking about the South – Pinkerton game Saturday night after UNH’s win at William and Mary inside Richmond International Airport, and Knight mentioned that South turned it over 7 times. “I’m no expert, but I think it’s hard to win a game with 7 turnovers” was my reply. Credit Pinkerton’s defense for taking the pumpkin away so much, and showing the world just how bad my picks can be. It’s a tough test for Pinkerton though, as they get a trip to Salem for their troubles.

6. HAVE A DAY, JOHN THIBAULT

Speaking of 7’s, SEVEN TD’S for Thibault in Newport’s romp over Epping/Newmarket-  that’s a good season for most players . 6 TD’s rushing and 1 on a Pick-6 got the job done for the Tigers. Newport and Monadnock should be a slobberknocker in the D3 Semis.

5. THE NHSPORTSPAGE GREATEST FOOTBALL GAMES TRAILER DROPS TUESDAY

Featuring your favorite HS Sports yappers, Pete, Dave, Jen Chick-Ruth, and of course your boy McIsaac. Jen Chick-Ruth as usual has done an amazing job, and I can’t wait to see the finished product. Keep your eyes peeled tomorrow for that bad boy.

4. DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME CAN GO TO HELL

Is there ANYONE who needs the sun to be out at 6 am, just so it can set at 4:16 or whatever the hell it was today? (Just looked it up, it was 4:29. THAT STILL SUCKS) I’m a notorious hater of winter, so I’m a bit on edge with the temperature dropping. Get me into the Atlantic Time Zone, and get me there yesterday, so I can have the sun set at a reasonable hour in the winter, and not until like 9 pm in the summer.

3. THE NFL IS TERRIBLE WHEN THE PATS ARE ON A BYE

All these teams are awful. The Rams are like the 2nd best NFC team, and I’m confident the Pats would beat them by 20. The Philadelphia Eagles of all teams are 8-1. Seattle stinks, the Chiefs now stink, and I’m being forced to watch Jay Cutler of all people on Sunday Night Football as we speak. Can we clone the Pats and give them out to other cities as teams? Or at least clone Belichick?

2. PLYMOUTH IS NOT HERE TO DANCE FOR YOU, DAVE HALEY

The Bobcats were STOIC while being interviewed after their Q-Final win over Souhegan Saturday, as a flustered Dave Haley tried to comprehend what was happening. Most teams are jazzed to win a playoff game, especially in D2 where the tournament is always the most fun, but Plymouth wasn’t trying to live that life. Wake them up when they get to Durham, if you want to see some excitement.  PFT Commenter would be proud #FootballGuys

1. BOW MY GOD

There wasn’t a soul in the Granite State outside of Bow that could tell you they picked the Falcons to Climb Mount Jaguar on Saturday and knock off the 1 seed, but that’s what happened.

Bow is a senior laden team that was thisclose to winning it all last season, so they know what it takes to get to Durham. A late TD pass from Matt Harkins to Matt Borak will send the Falcons up to Hanover, who wasn’t expecting to host a Semi-Final game, but will have their hands full with the 8 seed.

ALSO RECEIVING VOTES: The Beach Boys survive and advance, Monadnock rumbles, Fights all over the NFL yesterday, Get to UNH v Elon if you’re not at a HS game Saturday
